RDA North West

Riding for the Disabled North-West has been operating in the North-west of Tasmania for just over 40 years and is the longest continuously running Centre in Tasmania  (We also have the longest serving coach; Pam Hutton who has been with RDA North-West since its inception).

During this time we have held riding sessions at several locations in the Burnie/Wynyard area. In 1984 we moved to our current site at Multicap’s Panorama Complex in West Mooreville Road, Burnie. Since being at this venue, we have continued to improve facilities at our centre. In 2010 we doubled the size of our sand arena, with the very generous assistance of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes, Grand Lodge of Tasmania through their local Cam group.

Over the years our centre has been greatly supported by various groups and individuals in our community.  We would sincerely like to thank everyone who has donated and shown support to our centre, without this valued assistance we wouldn’t be able to run our centre or to continue to provide our service.

Our coaches and volunteers are dedicated group who give freely of their time and skills to help adults and children with disabilities, special needs and mental health issues develop their skills and enrich their lives through horse riding programs. Not only does horse riding have therapeutic benefits it’s also FUN. Participants of all ages are welcome. We offer sessions that are structured to the rider’s ability and are managed by our Nationally Accredited Coaches.
